Genital warts are also known as condyloma acuminate. These flesh-coloured skin infections are found in the genital area and anal region. Genital warts can affect both, men and women. They are highly contagious, occur in clusters, and spread rapidly. In women, they occur inside or outside the vagina. Skin infections with genital warts may not be noticeable in the early stages. Genital warts are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). It can occur at any age. More than 100 types of HPVs have been identified, out of which around 40 affect the genital area.
- Mostly people who suffer from genital warts are between the ages of 17 to 33 years. As, warts are contagious; the risk of acquiring it from an infected person is 60% through sexual contact.

- Genital warts are directly correlated to use of birth control pills because the use of these pills indirectly promotes increased sexual contact without use of contraception, sexual contact with multiple partners and early sex
